Upon receiving my 2nd tassel as a symbol for all the academic trials I've gone through, it occurs to me that I've been doing this for the past 17 years of my almost 22 year long life. 77% of my life. Wowza.
On a different, and slightly related note. I've been battling this writing thing of mine for a good 2 years now, unable to do anything and wanting more than anything to be able to strangle some characters. But one week after school gets out and I get a handle on two different plots of mine and basically figure them out.
Of course this would happen now.
After all the creative writing due dates.
After I get away from those who can help.
Yes, this would happen to me. Thanks brain.
I had a really good idea for a blog...

but I forgot it. :(
I've been thinking about running a contest or something for my Etsy. I did the math and I have sold 43 Percy Jackson necklaces! Wowza! One order was for 20, but still! That's 20!
I'm also working on a new design to get up soon AND some more drawings! :D

Shiver was SUCH an amazing book, so what the heck? I'm entering this fabulous Linger giveaway!
In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.
At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love -- the light and the dark, the warm and the cold -- in a way you will never forget.
Comes out in stores everywhere July 20th. Pre-order here.
Enter to win an advanced review copies of LINGER, Sisters Red, The Dead-Tossed Waves, and The Replacement on Maggie's blog.

Posted by Jennifer at 3:26 AM 0 commentsSo many, many moons ago on deviantArt I found this fabulous artist, whom I adore. It started with Twilight Art (as seen above) but moved on to other things....

So... as some of you might know... I am a little addicted to piercings... however I want some advice.
These are current pictures of my ears. Technically, my left ear only has one of the bottom helix-to-helix orbital, but that's going to get fixed very soon.
So here are the options.
Right ear
I was thinking of getting an Anti-Tragus Orbital
Picture:
But is that too much orbital with a conch on the same ear?
And then Left ear
Left is trickier. I wanted to switch the bottom helix-to-helix orbital so the balls are in the inside of the ear, not outside.
But.... I also thought it would be cool to get another on, or a lobe orbital. Picture below.
So I could either pattern the balls like outside, inside, outside, etc or all outside.
A little note: with the left ear like it is showed above, you cannot see the balls on the outside when looking at my face straight on, thus the idea of change.
Any thoughts would be great!!

Posted by Jennifer at 12:18 AM 0 commentsI found this. A partial abandoned project. It's very old. December 2008. Yikes. Anyway. I scanned it, airbrushed the crap out of it and slapped it up everywhere because I forgot how much I liked it.
She's supposed to be holding an apple, but that never got finished. Ah well.
Maybe if enough people like it, I'll finish the series. *shrug*
The basic design was taken from an Alphonse Mucha picture. Can't remember which. Oops.
I want to explain the blog title

I thought this would be a good first blog post topic.
For years I've had email addresses that are "themazeofimagination" at something. A lot of people ask me about it when I give it out... especially in stores when no one appreciates it.
Well, it's pretty simple. Back in 2000 when I was just a wee one, I found this band that has kind of changed my life. U2. Beautiful Day was the first song I ever heard of theirs and I completely fell in love. And there's one line in there, one lyric in particular that I just love. It so rightly epitomizes creativity and how it works. And that is what I strive for. I changed the lyric a little bit to make it fit within itself better.
Anyway. Read the lyrics below for some stunning poetry.
The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town
You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere
You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace
It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination
You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out
It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day
Of course all music is better when it is heard...
